Cooking Japanese rice is easy if you have a rice cooker.

Japanese Maker’s Rice Cookers
The best option is a rice cooker that Japanese makers, such as Zojirushi and Tiger, make because it comes with an exclusive measuring cup for rice, and inner pot has markings for water.
Usually, Japanese rice cookers have timer and warmer function too. If you want to eat some rice for breakfast, you can set timer.

Non-Japanese Rice Cookers
Non-Japanese rice cookers are good option as well. Many of them come with an exclusive measuring cup for the rice and have markers for water.

Pressure Cookers
Another good option in the US is pressure cookers. I have used Instant Pot when I was staying at a hotel and found the pot makes good chewy Japanese rice easily. The pot has “rice” button.
Make sure water is 1.2 times rice volume or 1.5 times rice weight.
