Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup made from dashi (bonito soup stock) and miso.
Typically, some other ingredients, such as tofu and green onion, are added to it.
Steamed rice and miso soup are classic, comforting paring in Japanese cuisine.
You can find instant miso soup at many grocery stores, but it is not too difficult to make home-made miso soup if you have dashi and miso.

- Dashi – 1 Miso soup bowl
- Miso – 1 teaspoon
- Tofu, wakame, and green onion – Appropriate amount
<Preparation>
- Put dashi and cut tofu in a small pan and heat it until it shimmers.
- Remove 1 from the heat and add wakame in it.
- Pour 2 in a miso soup bowl and sprinkle chopped green onion.
Variety of Miso Soup Ingredients
Although there are some typical miso soup ingredients, such as tofu, wakame (seaweed), green onion, mushrooms, and combinations of these, you can be creative about ingredients.




Potato, cabbage, napa cabbage, and daikon radish are something you can find at any grocery stores and can be good miso soup ingredients.




Some people make tomato ingredients of miso soup too.
